About Us

Travis Poore was born & raised in Greenwood, SC.  He worked in manufacturing for 11 years and unexpectedly was laid off.  He wasn’t happy.  He was struggling and wasn’t planning to go anywhere.  At that point he had researched franchise opportunities.

Travis and his family moved into their new home and had the carpets cleaned by Chem Dry.  He had always used Chem Dry.  When Jimmy, the owner, came out he struck up a conversation with Travis.  Travis told him he was looking for work and was unemployed.  Jimmy told Travis that he was looking to sell the business because his wife was terminally ill.  Jimmy wanted to keep his full time Job at Capsugel and take care of his wife.  

Travis pursued purchasing Chem Dry.  Before the purchase took place, Travis worked with Jimmy for 4 months to learn the business and decide if he wanted to purchase.  In 2011, he decided to purchase Chem Dry. Finalization of the purchase took place in January of 2012.

Travis and his wife Brandy have been married for 21 years as of 2018.  They have a son, RJ, and a daughter, Cami.  They also have a dog, Cody and Ramsey the cat.

Everything came together for Travis to get into the business.  Brandy and Travis whole heartedly believe that God intervened to make all of this happen. Every day Travis does work that he loves.  He enjoys serving the Lord in the process.
